The Child Development Programme (CDP) offers a free developmental screening to all children between 18 and 48 months of age. The purpose of a developmental screening is to determine if a child is meeting their developmental milestones in the following areas: behaviour, movement, learning, and communication.

An Early Childhood Screening Specialist will be assigned to your family and will conduct the screening using a standardised tool.  Books, toys, and puzzles are used to evaluate progress in problem-solving, understanding and using language, manipulating small objects, running, jumping, and balancing.  Parents and caregivers also have the opportunity to discuss any concerns they may have about their child’s behaviour and development. Participants will receive guidance on how to support their child’s skills. Following the screening, they will receive a results letter and developmentally appropriate resources.

The screening may take place at your home, your child’s nursery/daycare facility, or at the Child Development Program.

Register your child for a screening by logging on to the Child Development screening registration website: https://forms.gov.bm/CDPform, emailing cdpinfo@gov.bm, accessing forms via the main government website, www.gov.bm, hand-delivering a registration form to 30 Victoria Street, Ground Floor, Hamilton, HM12 or by calling us at 478-3333.

We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s growth and development.
